The secret here lies with the origin of the grapes. In this case one hundred year old vines with low yields, picked by hand then selected berry by berry. From the traditional Tempranillo Peludo ( hairy ) grape, now extremely rare due to its very low yields. This has made it unpopular with producers, but the ethic at Campillo to resurect old varieties have given us a wonderful wine. The low yields mean greater concentration of aromas, fruit, elegance and quality. Drink now, and with long life ahead. Fun size bottle too ! |
